Roles We’re Growing Into

The roles we’ll be hiring for as we scale.

As LumityCare grows, two roles will drive most of the hiring. If either describes the kind of work you do well, we’d like to talk.

Drivers

Ambulatory & wheelchair-accessible

The face of LumityCare. You’ll be the person greeting a passenger at the door, helping them safely into the vehicle, getting them to their appointment on time, and back home with dignity intact.

What you’d do

Door-to-door pickups and drop-offs across Greater Chicagoland
Help with mobility assistance — walkers, wheelchairs, transfers
Communicate clearly with passengers, families, and the dispatch team
Keep your vehicle (ours or yours, depending on role) clean and inspection-ready
Treat every passenger with patience — especially older or anxious riders

What we look for

Clean driving record & valid IL driver’s license
Comfort with mobility assistance and elderly/frail passengers
Willingness to complete background check, drug screen, and CPR/First-Aid training (we cover certification costs)
Reliable, on-time, and professional in appearance and communication
Availability for evening, weekend, or after-hours shifts

Dispatch / Booking Coordinator

Schedules, families, drivers

The hub of the operation. You’ll take calls, build the daily schedule, keep drivers and families in the loop, and solve the small problems before they become big ones.

What you’d do

Answer incoming calls and emails from families, facilities, and Care Coordinators
Build the daily route schedule and assign drivers
Send written quotes, pickup confirmations, and ride-completed notifications
Handle reschedules, cancellations, and same-day requests with care
Be the calm voice when something unexpected happens during a ride

What we look for

Excellent phone presence — warm, clear, patient with older callers
Strong organizational instincts; comfortable juggling multiple riders and timelines
Comfortable with digital tools (scheduling, email, basic spreadsheets)
Empathy with medical patients and family caregivers
Healthcare or scheduling experience a plus, not required
