Pricing disclaimer: Prices shown are starting rates for one-way trips. Final pricing depends on distance, wait time, time of day, and any specialized equipment needed. Long-Distance trips are custom-quoted. Wait time is billed at $20 per 15 minutes after a 10-minute grace period. Round-trip and multi-stop trips are quoted individually based on your specific route.

One-Way

We drop off, wait or return at a set time, and bring you home. Common for outpatient and dialysis visits.

One trip with additional stops — pharmacy on the way home, a second pickup, or chained errands.

Why is medical transport priced higher than a regular ride?

A LumityCare ride looks like a car trip on the outside. On the inside, it's a different operation — and that's reflected in the price.

ADA-compliant vehicles

Wheelchair ramps, secure tie-downs, and properly equipped accessible vans cost significantly more to buy and maintain than a sedan.

Trained, vetted drivers

Background checks, CPR/First Aid, mobility-assistance training, and ongoing certifications — all required before a driver picks up a passenger.

Insurance & liability

Commercial passenger insurance, medical-transport endorsements, and added liability coverage are a multiple of standard auto policies.

Time built around your visit

We arrive early, build in buffer for traffic, and often wait through the appointment. That's time a rideshare driver wouldn't be on the clock for.

Door-to-door care

Helping someone in and out of a home, navigating stairs, stowing a wheelchair safely — the service starts well before the engine does.

Equipment & maintenance

Ramp mechanisms, tie-down hardware, oxygen accommodations, and rigorous cleaning between trips all add to the per-trip cost.

Payment Process

From quote to receipt — four steps.

Every booking follows the same simple flow. No surprises, no after-the-fact fees.

    Get a written quote

    Submit your booking request online or by phone. We respond within one business day with an itemized written quote — base rate, mileage, wait time, and any add-ons.

  2. 2

    Approve & pay deposit

    Once you approve the quote, we send a secure payment link for your deposit (equal to the base fee). Your card is securely stored on file by our payment processor to cover any post-trip charges — mileage true-up, wait time, or additional passengers. Facility-pay accounts are invoiced (Net-30) instead.

  3. 3

    Ride day

    Driver arrives 5–10 minutes early. Wait time at the appointment begins after a 10-minute grace period — we'll text or call if it looks like we'll exceed it.

  4. 4

    Final reconciliation & receipt

    After the ride, any remaining balance (extra mileage, wait time, additional passengers) is charged to the card on file. An itemized receipt — reflecting your actual ride — is emailed within 24 hours.

Accepted methods: credit/debit card via Stripe (deposit + card on file), ACH, Zelle, or other approved payment methods. Facility partners: Net-30 invoicing available — contact us to set up an account.

Terms & Policies

The fine print, written plainly.

Booking lead time
24–48 hours in advance is preferred. Same-day requests may be available based on driver availability and could carry a surcharge.
Cancellation
Cancel by 3:00 PM CST the day before your ride at no charge. Cancellations made after that window are charged a fee equal to the base fee for the trip. Trips booked after 3:00 PM CST the day before, and same-day bookings, are non-refundable. A confirmed trip holds a time slot that's no longer available to other riders — please call to cancel as soon as your plans change.
No-shows
If the passenger isn't available within 10 minutes of driver arrival, a no-show fee equal to the base fee for the trip is charged to the card on file.
Payment timing
For private-pay clients, the deposit (equal to the base fee) is due before the ride is dispatched. Any post-trip balance (mileage true-up, wait time, extras) is charged to the card on file. Long-distance trips require full payment or a substantial non-refundable deposit upfront. Facility-pay rides are invoiced per trip or weekly (Net-30).
Card on file
When you pay the deposit, your card is securely stored on file by our payment processor (Stripe). We use the card on file for post-trip charges (mileage true-up, wait time, additional passengers, no-show or late-cancellation fees) and, for recurring clients, weekly or daily billing. We never store full card numbers on LumityCare systems. You can update or remove your card on file at any time by contacting us.
Quote validity
Written quotes are valid for 48 hours. Routes, mileage, and wait time on the day of service are what your final receipt is based on.
Refunds
If a ride is cancelled by LumityCare (mechanical issue, weather), you'll receive a full refund within 3 business days.
Insurance & Coverage

How insurance fits in.

LumityCare is currently a private-pay and facility-pay service. Here's how that interacts with common coverage types.

Medicaid

For Medicaid-covered NEMT, contact your health plan or transportation broker directly. They typically book rides through a contracted provider network.

Medicare

Traditional Medicare generally doesn't cover non-emergency transport. Some Medicare Advantage plans do — check with your plan.

Private insurance

Some policies reimburse NEMT as part of their wellness or post-discharge benefits. We provide itemized receipts you can submit.

HSA / FSA

Medical transportation to an appointment is generally an eligible expense under HSA and FSA accounts.

Advance booking unlocks the most availability and lowest scheduling pressure.

Give complete address details

Building entrance, unit number, gate codes — anything that helps your driver find you fast.

Set up recurring rides early

If you have dialysis, PT, or weekly visits, a standing schedule gets you a better rate and your preferred driver when possible.

Schedule earlier in the day

Morning and midday windows have the most flexibility for traffic and appointment overruns.

Share mobility & access needs

Tell us about stairs, oxygen, walkers, wheelchairs, or anything else up front. It helps us send the right vehicle.

Confirm pickup & return separately

For longer appointments, scheduling separate one-way rides can be cheaper than open-ended wait time.
